WUF’s value to universities depends on one condition: that every university, in every country, can trust it. That trust rests on four principles.
Impartial
WUF has no political, religious, partisan or national ties, and it takes no side between countries or systems. Membership never places a member on any side.
Owned by universities
The direction of WUF is set with the universities it serves, through open dialogue, surveys of its members and shared declarations. WUF speaks for universities and for no one else.
Open to every region
Two headquarters, in San Diego, California, and in Antalya, Türkiye, give WUF a home in both the Global North and the Global South, and a meeting point open and accessible to every region.
Plain about its work
WUF says what it does and publishes what it learns. Its roles, benefits and fees are published openly on W-U-F.org, and it reports to its members each year.
