Accessibility

A site every visitor can use.

WUF represents every university and every person in higher education. Its website should be open to every visitor, whatever their abilities, their device or their connection.

How W-U-F.org is built

W-U-F.org is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and checked against them as pages are added.

  • Readable: text is never smaller than 14 pixels, body text is 17 pixels, and colors are chosen for strong contrast.
  • Keyboard: every menu, link, button and form can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus.
  • Screen readers: pages use clear headings and landmarks, pictures carry text descriptions, and charts and animated figures have their values in the text.
  • Calm motion: animations run once and briefly, and none at all if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Every screen: the site works on phones, tablets and computers, from narrow screens to wide ones.
  • Plain language: WUF writes in clear English that is easy to read everywhere.

Documents

The documents in the WUF Library are designed PDFs. If you need a document in another accessible format, write to us and we will provide it.
